Custom crosshair in Fortnite
Home / Support
Fortnite works together with the Easy AntiCheat system, which may block the crosshair overlay in Hooks mode. If you don't see the crosshair in this mode, use one of the other three overlay modes.
HudSight in these modes does not "touch" Fortnite files in any way, and HudSight is not on the list of prohibited programs. One of the overlay modes, Game Bar, is based on the Xbox Game Bar technology built into Windows 10/11, specifically designed for creating overlays.
Step by step
First, make sure the color mask in the crosshair settings has a non-zero transparency value (alpha channel). If the game or launcher is running with Administrator rights, launch HudSight with Administrator rights as well, or alternatively, run the game without Administrator rights.
Set the overlay mode to Hooks. Switch to the game and wait a few seconds. Still don't see the crosshair? Let's move on to the next step.
Set the mode to
Simple Overlay. For this mode, make sure the game settings have DirectX 12 rendering enabled or that you are playing in fullscreen windowed mode. More details about this mode can be found
here. Not working? Let's keep going.
Choose
Real Overlay. To use Real Overlay mode, you need to run HudSight with Administrator rights. More about this mode can be found
here.
Don't want to run HudSight as Administrator? Try the
Game Bar mode. For this, you need to install a free widget from the
Microsoft Store. More details about this mode can be found
here.
